KATA- Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Awards Submissions and Nominations
    1. This section outlines how you can participate in the Kampala Traders Awards.
    2. The event hosts the Kampala Traders Awards to recognize the most notable achievements in the financial trading industry within various categories, rewarding those initiatives, strategies, and innovations that have advanced the sector through outstanding performance, risk management, technology adoption, and financial sustainability.
    3. Award Submissions and Nominations
      • Any individual or company may nominate a trader, trading firm, strategy, technology, or initiative. Nominations can be submitted for oneself or others. Individuals may nominate in multiple categories and submit multiple nominations per category.
      • All nominations are confidential, and the information submitted remains under the ownership of the nominator. Full submissions will be reviewed by the Kampala Traders Awards panel to select a shortlist and may be shared with our event and media partners for the purpose of reviewing and shortlisting. Information submitted may also be used for research or publication purposes.
      • By submitting a nomination, you confirm you have the authority and relevant permissions to share the information provided, that the information is accurate and up-to-date, and that you grant us permission to use it for event-related content or media coverage. Do not submit information that you do not wish to be made public.
      • Nominations can only be submitted via the official awards nomination forms (accessible through the ‘Nominations Hub’ on the event website). Submissions made through email or other means will not be considered. For assistance, contact the nominations team at [contact email].
      • Nominations must be submitted in English.
      • Submitting the same company, strategy, or initiative multiple times in the same category will not increase the likelihood of being shortlisted. Different nominations in various categories are accepted.
      • Nominations must comply with the criteria and guidelines provided on the Kampala Traders Awards nomination page. Non-compliant submissions will not be eligible.
      • After the nomination deadline, the shortlisting process begins. The shortlisting panel consists of independent experts with no commercial links to the nominated companies, projects, or sponsors. The shortlist will be announced on the event website and in our associated publications.
      • If shortlisted, you agree to provide any requested photos, logos, or other materials for use in the awards presentation. You retain ownership of all submitted materials and we will seek your permission before using them for any other purpose.
      • After the shortlist is announced, voting will open (see clause 3.4). Winners will be revealed and celebrated at the dedicated Awards Ceremony during the event.
    4. Award Voting
      • Voting will be conducted via a unique URL distributed via email to the following eligible parties once voting opens:
        • Subscribers of event-associated publications
        • Members of recognized trading organizations or associations
      • Each registered participant receives one (1) vote per category, and voting can be done once.
      • No individual or company may vote more than once per category, even if they belong to multiple eligible groups (see clause 3.4.1).
      • For organizations with multiple traders, up to fifty (50) voters may be permitted. Larger voting allocations may be available for corporate licenses or event sponsors.
      • Voting will be limited to a maximum of fifty (50) votes per company, regardless of the number of employees or subsidiaries, to ensure a fair process.
      • Votes are cast through a unique link distributed to eligible parties. If a company has more than 50 eligible voters, the company must nominate individuals to cast votes, and it is the company's responsibility to ensure compliance with these rules.
      • It is the responsibility of each company or individual voter to ensure that they adhere to the voting rules outlined here.
